15 ways to manage day-to-day stress

April is National Stress Awareness month. Certainly not the only month to do something about your stress level though!

I know I don’t have to tell you what stress is. As I’m sure you know, stress is a natural part of being human. There is negative stress and positive stress. It can be so absolutely challenging and invigorating too, like in the case of the stress/overwhelm that comes when stepping out of your comfort zone when moving forward.

Here are some of the things that have helped my clients, it case it’s of help to you.

15 ways to manage day-to-day stress

  • Any movement: walking, jogging, hiking, especially in nature
  • Running, even if on a treadmill
  • Lifting heavy things (safely)
  • Playing a favorite instrument
  • Dancing, singing
  • Restorative yoga
  • Hot shower
  • Swimming
  • Reading for fun, getting absorbed in books
  • Gentle breathing exercises
  • cuddles with a pet
  • slowly drinking a cup of tea, focused on that experience as if it was your only life purpose
  • cleaning, de-cluttering, organizing…
  • essential oils
  • creating something, knitting, quilting, baking…
